Join us in a celebration of the strange, wonderful, and historical at our Victorian-inspired Secret Garden Party at Marble Cemetery. The small burial ground in Manhattan's East Village, often called the Second Avenue Cemetery, is a tucked away oasis frozen in 19th century beauty. Enter its hidden splendor and enjoy a trip back in time with absinthe-tastings, exotic birds, stereoscopic viewings, croquet, traditional parlour games, and other eccentric wonders from the past.
Be serenaded by the music of traditional 19th century instruments and technologies as you lap up Springtime drinks and savory pies. Take a Victorian nature workshop with the Evolution Store and a talk and tasting by absinthe connoisseur and author of Absinthe Antiques: A Collection from la Belle Époque, Scott MacDonald.
Explore the history of Marble Cemetery through self-guided investigation and celebrate the wondrous at this immersive highlight of our NYC Obscura Day line-up!
